WELCOME!
The NFPA 1194 Certificate of completion program is designed to ensure that park owners and operators have in-depth knowledge of the current standards for RV Parks and Campgrounds design and construction as outlined by the National Fire Protection Association. This course provides practitioners with knowledge of best practices and the necessary resources to work with regulatory agencies when designing or modifying existing facilities. This program will also examine elements of NFPA1194 that cover public safety, electrical, facilities, fire protection, and water and sanitation.
Note: National ARVC provides this content as a guide only. It is the responsibility of all parties involved in the purchase, build, and/or redesign to ensure all requirements are met according to local, state, and national guidelines. National ARVC does not accept responsibility of any form.

The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (National ARVC), in collaboration with its members and stakeholders, has developed this handbook for park operators. They focus on health, safety, risk management, and consumer-facing services. The purpose of this handbook is to provide a framework for encouraging best practices in establishing policies and procedures. They are not meant to be prescriptive or micro-manage how a park operates. Rather, they are deliberately broad, outcome-based statements and benchmarks that are applicable and adaptable to parks of any size or budget. Each park must use its independent judgment in deciding how to best implement these best practices.
