It's hard to believe that it's been 100 years since the first RVs took to the roads to explore this glorious country of ours! Whether it's solely to get away, relax with friends and family or to soak up the vast expanse of our nation's beautiful countryside, the RVing experience continues to rank as a favorite American pastime. Sure, there have been plenty of advances in the design and comfort of today's RVs, but the ease of being able to access your favorite destinations - including many of our member RV parks and campgrounds- is still what inspires today's RVing and camping enthusiasts! As an industry, let's celebrate the past 100 years of RVing and salute the promising future of this quintessential American epic past-time!
How to Participate? Celebrate the RV Centennial in Your Park!
- Logos - Download the RV Centennial logo to use on your own park website, materials throughout the park, and events to celebrate the Centennial. You Can download them from the RVIA logo gallery by visiting here: www.rvcentennial.org
- Historic Photos - Use historic photos commemorating the RV Centennial on your park website, materials throughout the park, and events to celebrate the Centennial. You can download them from the RVIA Historic RV Photos by visiting here: www.rvcentennial.org. There are even pics of old campgrounds with RV camping and much more! Do you have old photos of RVs? If so, please post them on your website and send them to ARVC for us to share with others on arvc.org. Please email any old photos to: gbarnette@arvc.org
- Create Posters, Flyers, Events - Use the above collateral to create posters, fliers and events in your park to promote the RV Centennial. ARVC will be creating a template poster design for you to use in your park. Please check back soon! You'll be able to download the poster and tweak it to your park's particular needs/events, etc.
- Follow & Participate in the RV Centennial Media Tour/Blitz - RVIA has planned an RV Centennial Media Tour with RV historian David Woodworth which will begin in spring, 2010 with an event in New York, N.Y. before continuing on a two-week blitz of media markets as the Tour proceeds to Elkhart, Ind. Please email ARVC if you believe your park is along their route and you are interested in hosting an event/overnight at your park! Email ktomlin@arvc.org
The Tour is slated to feature antique and modern RVs to showcase the advancements the industry has made. RVIA manufacturer members are being invited to participate in a lottery to provide state-of-the-art units to be featured in media coverage of the tour.
In addition to the RV Centennial Media Tour, RVIA is also planning to offer media interviews with David Woodworth on location with antique and modern RVs via satellite, to generate more coverage of the 100th anniversary in media markets across the country.
